At Covenant Classical Academy, a school building is more than a collection of classrooms. It is a place where students pray, read, ask hard questions, practice virtue, and learn together. As we plan for our new property in Elizabeth City, we are considering how each space can serve that calling.
Our plan places kindergarten through second grade downstairs. We envision a library in the downstairs break room and an Upper School Library in the upstairs textbook room. We are also considering how to make the upstairs hot water heater closet a teachers’ lounge. These are plans for the spaces, and we will share more as the layout and renovations are finalized.
The work ahead calls for careful attention to the building itself. Safety, accessibility, supervision, and the practical needs of daily school life will guide decisions about classrooms, gathering spaces, and outdoor play.
Through every change, our purpose remains the same: to provide a Christ-centered classical education that helps students grow in wisdom and virtue and learn to love what is true, good, and beautiful.
